Quotes & Orders

The Quotes Page

Search every quote, filter by date, status, tag and manager, and open a quote from the Quotes list in Puree.

The Quotes page is where every quote and order lives. Open it from Quotes in the main menu. It opens on your upcoming active quotes, soonest first, and the search box and filters narrow it from there.

The Quotes page: a search box and New quote button at the top, a filter bar reading Date Upcoming, Showing Active quotes, Status All, Tag All, Manager All and Sort Default, then a table of quotes with date, status, manager, customer, type, amount and quote number.

Quotes and orders

Puree uses both words, and they mean the same record at different stages. Every job starts as a quote. Once the customer accepts it, or you mark it accepted, it’s an order: the same record, with the same quote number, in the same row on this page, now with an Accepted status. Nothing is copied or converted.

That’s why the page is called Quotes but the Manager filter says My orders, and why dockets and kitchen screens talk about orders: they’re working from the quotes that have been accepted. Orders placed through your online order form appear here too.

Searching

Type in the search box at the top right. It matches:

  • customer name
  • contact name
  • quote number
  • tag name
  • manager’s first or last name
  • status, such as accepted or declined

The list updates as you type. A search looks across every quote, including past, expired and declined ones, and shows the most recent first, so you don’t need to change any filters to find last year’s job.

Any filter you pick yourself still applies on top of the search, and the line above the results tells you what you’re looking at, for example 4 quotes matching “Summit” in Accepted. If your filters are hiding other matches, the same line links to them. When nothing matches inside your filters, a Show all matches button takes you straight to the ones outside them.

To clear the search, click the × in the search box or press Esc. Clear search above the results clears the search but keeps your filters.

Filters

Each filter is a dropdown in the bar above the list. A filter that is narrowing the list turns pale indigo, so you can see at a glance what’s in play.

Date

  • Upcoming (the default): today onwards, soonest first.
  • Previous: before today, most recent first.
  • All dates
  • Today or Tomorrow

For any other single day, click the calendar button beside Date and pick it.

Showing

Which quotes to include:

  • Active quotes (the default): pending and accepted. A pending quote that has passed its expiry date counts as expired and drops out, matching the red clock it shows.
  • Expired, Declined or Deleted on their own, or Expired, declined & deleted together. Choosing one of these also sets Date to All dates, since you’re usually looking back.
  • Everything: every quote, including online orders a customer hasn’t finished checking out.

This replaces the old Expired / Deleted / Declined tab.

Status

All, Pending or Accepted. Status is hidden while Showing is set to expired, declined or deleted quotes, because it doesn’t apply to them.

Tag

Show only quotes with a particular tag. Type in the dropdown to search your tags. See Tagging Quotes.

Manager

All, My orders (the quotes you manage), or any team member. Puree remembers your choice, so if you pick My orders it’s still set next time you open the list. See Order Managers.

Sort

Default, Event date (earliest or latest first) or Last updated (newest or oldest first). Clicking the Date column heading sorts too.

Removing filters

Once anything is filtered, a Filtering by line appears under the filter bar with a chip for each filter you’ve chosen, and one for your search. Click a chip to remove just that filter, or Clear all to go back to the default list.

Opening a quote

Click anywhere on a row to open the quote. The buttons in the row, such as View, Edit and the Xero or QuickBooks Link, still do their own thing. Cmd-click (Ctrl-click on Windows) or middle-click a row to open the quote in a new tab.

When you go back to the list from a quote, your search and filters are still there.

Click the Customer column heading to show each quote’s contact name under the customer, and click it again to hide them.
