Beverage packages: a clear customer offer and quantities for your team

By Andrew Hemphill · 18 September 2026

A three-hour beverage package gives a customer a clear offer: a set price per guest and a selection of drinks available during the agreed service. Your team still needs a practical estimate of what to order and pack.

In Puree, you can keep both views in one package. The customer sees the package charge and the available drinks, while the included beverage items retain internal quantities for planning.

Start with the offer the customer will see

Create a menu header such as Beverage selection. Its optional default commentary is a useful place for your responsible service statement and the duration and terms of the package.

Then go to Items → Packages and create a package. In the walkthrough, the example is Three-hour beverage package, priced at $55 per guest, with a minimum of 20 guests. Use your own price and minimum; these figures simply illustrate the setup. You can also add a description and choose a suitable package category.

Add the drinks and plan the quantities

Add the included wines, beers and nonalcoholic drinks as Fixed items, and apply the Beverage selection menu header to all of them.

Set each beverage’s quantity type to per guest. Enter your own estimated quantity of that item for the full three-hour service, using the item’s unit and your event plan. Puree scales the quantities when you enter the guest count on a quote.

Those figures help your team prepare an order and packing list. They are not recommended consumption amounts or a promise of a particular number of drinks to each guest. For an unlimited package, the offer is governed by the duration and service terms you state to the customer.

Use Info only for the included drinks

Turn on Info only for every beverage and leave Show price off, then add the selection and save the package.

This is the key setting for this workflow: an info-only item inside a package retains its internal quantity, while the customer’s quote hides that quantity. Leaving Show price off keeps individual beverage prices out of the presentation. The charge sits on the package itself.

Bring the package into a quote

On the quote’s items page, open Packages and select the beverage package. Enter the number of guests, such as 100, add the package to the order and save.

The internal view shows the package charge and calculated beverage quantities. Review those totals before using them for dockets, ordering and packing, or placing an external supplier order.

The customer view shows the package charge, the Beverage selection heading, any commentary and the drinks available. It leaves out your internal drink quantities and individual beverage prices, so the offer reads as an unlimited selection within the duration and terms you have set.

Check both views before sending

Review the customer view to make sure the duration, inclusions and terms are clear. Check the internal quantities separately against the event you are preparing for. This gives the customer a straightforward package to consider and gives your team the detail needed to organise the service.
