Change package choices for one quote

By Andrew Hemphill · 18 August 2026

Need two canapé choices on a quote when your usual package includes three? You can change the package on that quote without editing or duplicating your standard catalogue package.

This is useful for a one-off package change, such as an alternate drop dining package with fewer canapé selections for one event. The steps below apply when the package is already added to the quote and you know the two items to include.

Replace the choice group on this quote

  1. Edit the quote and go to its items page. Open the package to bring up Update Package.
  2. Under Package Items, find the Canapés group and click its ×. The group will be crossed out and marked not on this quote, with a Restore link if you change your mind. Remove this group, not the whole package using Remove from order.
  3. Under Add Extra Items, search for and add the two canapés you want. They will appear as Extra rows inside this package.
  4. Check each item’s quantity. For example, if you need one of each canapé for 120 guests, each line should have a quantity of 120. Use the item’s Edit button if adjustments are needed.
  5. Update the package’s Description if it still says “three canapés”. Check Price/Guest and the package total against what you intend to charge; do not assume fewer choices automatically reduces the package price.
  6. Click Update, then save the quote’s items page. Review the customer-facing quote to confirm it shows the two intended canapés and the correct description and price.

The original canapé choice group is excluded from this quote, and the two replacement items belong to this quote’s package. Your usual three-choice catalogue package remains unchanged.

Why not just clear the third choice?

Clearing an individual selection can leave an unfilled “selection pending” slot because the original choice rule still asks for three selections. Removing the whole canapé group from this quote and adding the two wanted items avoids leaving that third slot behind.

When to create a separate catalogue package

Use the quote-specific method above for a one-off change where you have chosen the two items. If you want a reusable two-choice package for future quotes, or need to offer an unfilled two-choice selection instead, create a separate catalogue package with Number of selections set to 2. Update any “Choose 3” wording on that copy.
