Order Managers: Assign a Team Member to Every Quote and Order

As a catering team grows, one question keeps coming up: who's looking after this job? Order Managers answers it right on the quote. Assign a team member as the manager of any quote or order, and everyone can see at a glance who's responsible for coordinating that event.

Assign a Manager in One Click

Open any quote or order and you'll find an Assign manager button near the top of the page, just above the tags. Click it, pick a team member, and their coloured initials appear as the manager. Every user has their own consistent colour, so managers are easy to recognise wherever they show up.

To reassign, click the manager and choose someone else. To clear it, choose Unassigned. There's no separate save step — the change is stored the moment you pick.

A new AM (Assigned Manager) column sits just before the customer name on the quotes list. Each row shows the manager's coloured initials — or a dashed circle when a job hasn't been assigned yet — so you can scan a whole page and immediately spot the quotes that still need a manager. Hover over any circle to see the full name.

Filter to "My Orders" and Search by Manager

The My Orders filter shows only the quotes and orders you manage, so each person can focus on their own workload. Search understands managers too: type a colleague's first or last name to pull up everything they're responsible for, right alongside the usual search by customer, tag, status and quote number.

Printed on Your Dockets

The assigned manager carries through to your paperwork. It prints as Manager under the status on the chef docket, and as Event Manager beneath the title on the event brief — so the kitchen and the on-site team always know who's coordinating the job.

Managers, Tags and Event Staff

Order managers sit alongside the tools you already use. Use managers for internal accountability, tags to categorise and organise quotes, and event staff for the people rostered to work the event itself. Each answers a different question, and together they give you a clear picture of who's responsible for what.
