Delivery Fee Presets: Pick the Right Fee Instead of Remembering It

By Andrew Hemphill · 13 October 2026

Most caterers who deliver have a short list of fees they charge again and again: one for the centre of town, more for the suburbs, more again at the weekend. Until now that list lived in someone’s head, or on a note stuck beside the screen, and every quote meant typing the figure from memory. Get it wrong and a weekend job goes out at the weekday rate, or a new staff member guesses.

Delivery fee presets put that list into Puree. You name each fee once, and staff pick it on the quote.

Set up your fees

Admins will find a new Delivery fees page in Settings, just under Tax. Add a fee with a name and an amount. The names are yours, so use whatever your team already says: a zone, a suburb, a time of week.

Drag the rows into the order your team reaches for them, and the quote builder follows. You can edit or delete a fee at any time, and quotes that already use it keep the amount they were given.

Pick one on a quote

On a quote’s Details step there is now a Choose a delivery fee… list beside the Delivery Fee amount. Choose Suburbs weekend and $75.00 goes into the field, with the tax under it updated to match.

It’s a shortcut, not a rule. Staff can still type any amount, and typing over a chosen fee is always allowed, for the one-off job up a long driveway or the regular client on an agreed rate.

If you haven’t set any fees up yet, admins see an Add delivery fee presets link in that spot. It opens the settings page in a new tab, so the quote you were writing stays where it was.

What it doesn’t do

Puree doesn’t decide which fee applies. It won’t switch to the weekend fee because the event is on a Saturday, or to an after-hours fee because the drop is at nine at night: staff choose the right one. Keeping it a choice means the fee on a quote is always one somebody picked on purpose.

Presets are for quotes your team builds. Online order forms are unchanged and keep working out delivery from their own postcode rules (see Delivery Fees by Postcode).

The tax band for delivery hasn’t moved either. It’s still on Settings → Tax, which now links to the Delivery fees page.

Full detail is in the manual: Delivery Fee Presets.
