Customer & Contact Notes: Add Internal Notes to Your Customer and Contact Profiles

Keeping track of important details about your customers and contacts just got easier. Puree now supports notes on both customer and contact profiles — free-text fields where you can record internal information that matters to your team.

Customer Notes

Every customer profile now has a Notes tab in the sidebar, alongside Contacts, Addresses, Quotes, Emails, and Documents. Click the tab to view and edit the customer's note — a free-text area where you can record anything relevant to your team.

Common uses include:

  • Dietary preferences or recurring requirements
  • Payment terms or billing instructions
  • Key account details or relationship history
  • Internal reminders for your team

Simply type your note and click Save Note. The note is saved directly to the customer's profile and is visible to all users on your account.

Contact Notes

Contacts now have a Note field in their create and edit forms. Use this to record information specific to an individual contact — preferred communication method, role details, or anything else your team needs to remember.

When a contact has a note, it appears directly on the contact card on the customer profile page, shown with a pencil icon and truncated to two lines. Click through to the contact to read the full note.

Notes Surface on the Quote Form

This is where notes become especially useful. When creating or editing a quote, if the selected customer or contact has a note, a small Note badge appears next to their name on the order form.

Hover over the badge to read the full note in a tooltip — no need to navigate away from the quote. This means your team can see important customer or contact details at a glance while they're building a quote.

The badges update dynamically. When you change the customer or contact on the form, the note badge appears or disappears based on whether the newly selected customer or contact has a note.

How to Get Started

  1. Navigate to a customer's profile and click the Notes tab
  2. Enter your note and click Save Note
  3. For contacts, click the contact to edit and fill in the Note field
  4. Next time you create a quote for that customer, hover over the Note badge to see the details

No Setup Required

This feature is available immediately for all accounts. The Notes tab appears on all customer profiles, and the Note field appears on all contact forms. Existing customers and contacts simply have empty notes until you choose to add one.
