Email Tracking and Delivery Improvements in Puree

By Andrew Hemphill · 30 January 2026

Email communication is at the heart of catering operations — from sending quotes to confirming orders and sharing menus. We've made significant improvements to how Puree handles email delivery, giving you better visibility into what's been sent and confidence that your messages are reaching customers reliably.

Of course, you can still share quote links directly with customers outside of Puree if you prefer. These new features apply when you send quotes and menus through Puree's built-in email.

Email History on Customer Profiles

Every customer profile now includes a dedicated Emails tab showing a complete history of all emails sent to that customer's contacts. You can see at a glance:

  • Email subject and recipient — Quickly identify which quote or menu was sent
  • Delivery status — See whether emails were sent, delivered, or encountered issues
  • Timestamps — Know exactly when emails were sent and delivered

Click any email to view the full content exactly as it appeared to your customer, including the message body, any buttons, and your business footer.

View Emails from the Audit Trail

When reviewing an order's audit trail, you'll now see a "view email" link next to each email sent entry. Clicking this opens the customer's email tab and displays the exact email that was sent — perfect for quickly checking what a customer received without leaving the order context.

Real-Time Delivery Status Tracking

Puree now tracks the delivery status of every email in real-time. Instead of wondering whether your quote reached the customer, you can see the actual delivery status:

  • Sent — The email has been dispatched from our servers
  • Delivered — The recipient's email server has accepted the message
  • Bounced — The email couldn't be delivered (invalid address, full inbox, etc.)
  • Complained — The recipient marked the email as spam

This visibility helps you identify delivery issues early. If a customer says they didn't receive your quote, you can quickly check whether it was delivered or bounced.

Delivery Issue Notifications

When an email encounters a delivery problem, Puree now notifies account owners automatically. You'll receive an email alert when:

  • An email bounces — The recipient address is invalid or the mailbox is full
  • Delivery is delayed — The recipient's server is temporarily unavailable

These notifications include the original recipient, subject line, and the reason for the issue, so you can take action — whether that's contacting the customer by phone or updating their email address.

Improved Email Reliability

Behind the scenes, we've made several improvements to ensure your emails are delivered reliably:

  • Smart delivery pacing — Emails are now sent with intelligent spacing to ensure optimal deliverability, especially when sending multiple quotes or confirmations
  • Better email validation — Invalid email addresses are caught earlier, before you attempt to send, reducing bounce rates
  • Mobile-optimised templates — Email templates now display beautifully on mobile devices with improved spacing and readability

Getting Started

These improvements are available now for all Puree users. To view a customer's email history, simply navigate to their profile and click the Emails tab. Email tracking begins automatically for all new emails sent through Puree.

We're committed to making customer communication in Puree as reliable and transparent as possible. If you have questions about email delivery or suggestions for improvements, we'd love to hear from you.
