Feature Update

Driver Delivery and Equipment Collection Feature

By Andrew Hemphill · 16 January 2026

We're excited to introduce a new mobile-first feature that transforms how your drivers interact with deliveries. Drivers can now access a dedicated mobile interface at www.puree.app/driver, where they can view their delivery schedule, record completion details with photos and notes, and track equipment left with customers — all from their phone.

A Mobile Experience Built for Drivers

Your drivers are on the move, often with their hands full. That's why we've created a streamlined mobile interface that makes it effortless to manage deliveries on the go. After signing in with their Puree credentials, drivers see a clean, card-based view of all their deliveries for the day — no clutter, just the information they need.

The interface automatically syncs with your delivery runsheet, so any changes you make back at the office — assigning drivers, setting departure times, organising run sequences — appear instantly on their mobile device.

Capture the Complete Picture

When a driver completes a delivery, they can now record far more than just a timestamp. With a single tap, they can:

  • Add completion notes — Capture client feedback, special requests, or any issues encountered on-site
  • Take photos — Document the delivery setup, venue conditions, or any concerns. The camera opens automatically on mobile devices for a seamless experience
  • Record equipment left behind — Using our new bullet-point input system, drivers can quickly list items like "3 plates" or "2 chafing dishes" without fumbling with keyboards

All of this information syncs immediately back to your office, appearing as badges and tooltips on the delivery runsheet. Click on a completed delivery to see who delivered it, when, and view all the photos they captured.

Equipment Collection Made Simple

One of the most powerful aspects of this feature is how it handles equipment left with customers. In the catering industry, keeping track of platters, serving dishes, and other equipment can be a logistical headache. Not anymore.

When a driver records equipment left behind, Puree automatically creates a collection task. Back at the office, you'll see an orange alert showing which equipment needs returning. With just a few clicks, you can schedule the collection for a future date — typically the next day.

The scheduled collection then appears on that date's runsheet, and your driver sees it on their mobile device alongside regular deliveries. They can mark items as collected, adjust quantities if some items weren't available, and even take photos of what was retrieved. If equipment can't be collected, they can easily reschedule it with a single tap.

Real-time visibility: Equipment collection badges appear on the original delivery showing the scheduled collection date. Hover over the badge to see when the collection is planned, giving you complete visibility into your equipment's whereabouts.

Designed for Real-World Conditions

We've designed every interaction with drivers in mind. The bullet-point input for equipment uses large touch targets and simple controls — perfect when you're wearing gloves or working in cold conditions. The interface works seamlessly even when drivers haven't been assigned to deliveries yet, showing items as "Unassigned" but still accessible.

Photos are captured using the device's native camera, providing the best possible experience on mobile. All data syncs instantly, so there's no waiting around or manual uploads — as soon as a driver marks something complete, you see it in the office.

The Benefits for Your Business

This feature brings several immediate benefits to your catering operation:

  • Better communication — Driver notes and photos provide context that a simple "delivered" status never could. See exactly what happened at each delivery
  • Equipment accountability — Build a comprehensive history of which equipment goes where, making it easy to track down missing items and identify patterns
  • Reduced losses — Automated collection scheduling ensures equipment doesn't get forgotten at customer sites
  • Visual documentation — Photos provide proof of delivery and can help resolve any disputes about setup or presentation
  • Time savings — No more phone calls asking drivers what equipment they left behind or when they completed a delivery — it's all recorded automatically

Getting Started

The driver mobile interface is available now at www.puree.app/driver. Your drivers simply sign in with their existing Puree credentials and they're ready to go. The feature integrates seamlessly with your existing delivery runsheet workflow — no changes required to how you currently organise deliveries.

Early development: This feature is in its early stages, and we're actively refining it based on real-world use. If you encounter any issues or have suggestions for improvements, please don't hesitate to reach out — we're here to help and eager to hear your feedback.
